Low Carb Krispy Kreme

Krispy Kreme is bowing to the pressure of crazed low-carb people. They are developing a low-sugar doughnut to be released by the end of 2004. When they released earnings reports, they said it would be "a low-calorie, sugar-free doughnut." Crazy! (thanks to Halo for the CNN tip.)

As a diabetic I would say a low-sugar doughnut is better than no doughnut at all. I'm on a strict diet, but it's nice to have a treat now and then. However I agree with you guys, if the thing tastes like a cardboard box, I'll just stick to eating celery. :(

i guess my incredulousness is at the thought of a "low carb donut". a donut is made up entirely of carbs and fat. lowering the sugar ain't gonna make it low carb. unless you just squeeze out the oil from the donut and eat that.

a low-sugar donut is one thing - low carb is just redickulous.

Yeah, I'm with you on that-the idea of a low carb doughnut. Although, have you tried any of the Atkins "low carb" bread or bagles? They aren't so bad, not as bad as some other low carb breads I'd like to forget about.
