Working around REVS

POST #    2399

This REVS sculpture in Williamsburg has been there so long that they painted around it when the rest of the building was painted. I'm surprised nobody has "removed" this one yet.

have other ones been removed? i imagine it's 1000x easier to paint around it than to remove it (with a blowtorch or something like that i presume?).

i agree that it's easier to paint around.

and from a 2005 times article on REVS:
"But Revs fans can be forgiven for thinking a comeback is in the works. Over the last several months, pictures of the sculptures have shown up on several street-art Web sites. This has prompted graffiti cognoscenti to scour the streets to find -- and in a few places, to wrench loose and steal -- the works, most of which are clustered in or close to Manhattan, although some have been discovered as far afield as Queensboro Plaza."
