Mort Mort a Little Sick Sick

POST #    2118

So last weekend we took Mortimer to the vet after for some issues he's been having and we got the report back yesterday. He's got an elevated white blood cell count, which we're told is a sign of some sort of infection, so he's going to go on antibiotics for a couple of weeks.

He's also on the high range of "average" for kidney and renal issues. Which I guess isn't all that surprising as he's a pureblooded abyssinian.

Feel better, Mort! To make you laugh/meow, at least you weren't forced to stand on a scale for ten minutes as Travis was this morning (I really wanted to see if he could stand on it, but he'd only have three of his feet there at most...I'll have to put his cat scratch mat on it later.)

so sad...what type of infection does he have? where it at? just wondering because am heading into world as a fledging vet and soon will be giving people advice on pet care ... scarry?!?!?

sick cat is no fun, and having to medicate them is always a challenge! they don't seem to like to gobble medicine laced meat balls up like greedy dogs do...

not sure what the infection is. just that his white cells are elevated. so the thought is that the antibiotics will fix that.
