Testing Out the New 50mm f/1.4

POST #    1969

Towards the end of last week, I got a Canon 50mm f/1.4 lens and took some time to play around with it. One of the best things about it, besides its great speed, but its size. It's so much lighter than the 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS lens I usually use. It almost makes me forget that I'm lugging around a huge camera. Almost.

Wonderful lens, I absolutely love mine. Although I'm currently thinking of picking up the Sigma 30mm f/1.4 instead because I find the 50 w/the 1.6x crop factor cameras to be a tad too long indoors. But a super lens nevertheless.

I like the detail in and around the street crack in the bottle picture. Finding the smallest details that just pop out in a digital picture sometimes is simply amazing to me.

Very nice pics with an outstanding lens. I have a 50mm f/1.8. Its a respectable alternative if you don't have the green for the f/1.4.
