The Moscow Cats Theatre at the Tribeca Performing Arts Center

POST #    1934

Saturday afternoon, we headed over to the Moscow Cats Theatre for some "these cats are so much better than your cat" action. Billed as the world's only cat theatre, there are 20 cats, 2 dogs, and 8 clowns in the traveling circus. It seemed like there were only 10 cats, 1 dog, and 6 clowns doing the show though. While there were some really impressive cat tricks, I think we all left the show wanting more cat and less creepy Russian ringmaster with hands that demand rhythmic applause.

As much I love seeing cats do tricks, I felt sad that I had contributed to the exploitation of scary cat tricks (although I'm sure cats on their own do similarly nutty stuff). But the cat who climbed DOWN a pole was awesome.

wow, your cat obsession has gone to a whole new disturbing level.

My cat growing up could do tricks too. He could lay around, he could eat the house plants, and he could puke and crap on the carpet. Funny thing is we all really miss the little guy!

The ringmaster's freakiness seems to overcome the coolness of the cat tricks. And I do enjoy me some cat tricks...
