Dine in Brooklyn: Alma
I don't like Mexican food, as I've stated before, but last night I went to Alma in Red Hook, which is another one of the restaurants participating in Dine in Brooklyn. My pictures turned out crappy, but I had the flautas, which are corn tortillas stuffed with seasoned shredded chicken and deep fried and the steak fajitas. The flautas were really excellent and the steak was good too. I didn't eat the rest of the dish, mainly because I don't really like tortillas either.
Topping off the meal was the key lime pie. I just love key lime and to make it even better, it was Steve's Key Lime Pie! My favorite!! And a local Red Hook business.

I do hope that you had their margaritas, which are quite good, as well.

Oh man I was so full after that dinner I walked about 40 blocks before going home and now I still feel like my stomach will explode. I think you should rephrase "I don't like Mexican food" to "I don't like most mexican food, but I love tortilla chips and salsa."

Mmmm... key lime pie, not an authentic Mexican dessert, but more passable than flan, which I don't believe is a real dessert.

corie, i actually didn't have a margarita. they give me headaches. maybe next time though.
and youngna, who doesn't love tortilla chips? i can't turn down freshly made ones either.
jen, i've been rather obsessed with key lime pie for a bit now.
