Upgrade Almost Complete

POST #    1268

I think my upgrade to Movabletype 3.11 is finally complete on this site. I still have to change the templates for the links section, but everything should be in working order. You'll see that when you click comment, there is no longer a pop up, but the whole page goes to the full entry. I can see both positives and negatives to this, but that's the way it's going to be now. Well, that's the way they built it and I'm too lazy to tinker with it enough to change it.

So test it out, play around. I'm still tinkering with the comments and wondering why I need to approve them even for people that are registered with Typekey. Strange. Drop a comment and let me know if you're experiencing any problems with the site as you are using it.

Another re-design of the site might be in the works as well.

Update:
If the site is looking very messed up, you might need to load the new stylesheet. Click here and then refresh the main page.

Hmm. When I use Firefox to browse it doesn't register your style sheet. I've been having this problem with another blog that I've been working with and can't figure out how to tweak the html so that it enables Firefox to view it correctly. Looks good in explorer, though (gag...I hate explorer).

I ran into the same comments issue when I upgraded this week. The cure: go through your MT folder on the server, and uninstall any files from the previous version of MT-Blacklist. It worked for me.

Oooh - neato. CSS things worked, and I'm glad what I was seeing temporarily wasn't permanent. I knew you had more style than that....oh god that was a terrible pun.

greg #1 - i've still go the old blacklist installed and it seems to be blocking some spam still, so i might leave it there even if it is making me approve comments. until blacklist is released for 3.11, i'll hold off on deleteing it.

greg #2 - yeah, i was having a lot of issues last night, changing everything around.

I like it, I thought I noticed something different. I am still working a move to my own domain, reading up on stylesheets right now. Good times.

Ahhh ... I feel you. It took me a while to figure this out, but Blackllist 2 is available in the MT Plugin Pack. Have at it.

technically, blacklist is not available for 3.11 yet. 2.0e is only for 3.0, which is what i read on jay allen's website. 2.0 for 3.11 is currently in beta testing. and corie said that her blacklist is giving her issues. i'll think about it.

Ah, mais non, monsieur — the version in the plugin pack is actually the 2.01b beta. I ran into some of the 2.0e bugs on another blog I administer, but the new release seems to have solved them.

thanks for the tip greg. it's installed, but i might be having some issues with it. i'll take another look later.

I turned out, when I poked around, that I installed the new blacklist plugin without uninstalling the old one. i thought i'd gotten rid of it a long time ago, but apparently i missed some files.

the only thing that i can think of is that the combination of two blacklists and the upgrade caused my massive comment issues. i'm wondering if i should install the older bloacklist again...i'm getting hit hard by spam and it sucks.
