Farewell to Sharon

POST #    1086

I've been at my job for more than 3 years at this point, and people come and people go, but Friday was the last day of someone else who has also been there for more than 3 years. My coworker Sharon decided to move on and help the family business. After work , everyone went out to dinner to bid her adieu and for a little celebration.

Dinner was at a Chinese barbecue place on Northern Boulevard and was followed by some karaoke next door. I can't say that I'm usually a big fan of karaoke, but I had a surprising amount of fun. I even sang a couple of songs. First, I sang Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen. That went well, considering I know the lyrics to the song and I know the timing of the song. A drink or two later, I did a William Hung-like rendition of She Bangs. That did not go so well. I knew none of the words or timing, but I still think I sounded better than Hung, who I absolutely hate.

Anyway, it's sad that Sharon's switching jobs and leaving the NYC area, but it's been a fun time working with her for the last 3 years.
