Virtual Move-In Condition
It looks like my apartment is ready to live in. All that needs to happen is a few minor touch-ups/changes and some cleaning (cough...cough...). I also need to turn on the boiler, the air conditioner, and the washer and dryer. I'm taking Friday off work to get some items out of storage and pile them somewhere into my apartment. Fun, fun, fun. I guess this saga is finally coming to an end.

okay, that's it. i want new cabinets. to hell with this trying to salvage the old ones.

el, i think if i told you the cost of the cabinets, you would want to continue your project.

I like what you have done. Congrats on nearly finishing! I do a lot of home improvements myself but we did get a contracter in to redo the master bathroom.
Word of caution about those cabinet handles. Just make sure they are within confortable reach for everyday use. The ones above the stove will always be too high for everday use but the other ones look a little high. If they are you could prolly get wood filler to match the color and move them to the bottom corner. I have similar sized handles and they look good there.
If you can reach then great.

thanks. actually, i just had a discussion with my parents about the cabinet handles. i didn't notice it myself when i went, but the ones for the upper cabinets are not at the bottom as they probably should be. i guess if i didn't notice the height, it's probably a good thing.
there was one handle that interferes with the stove, so there will have to be some wood filler used there.
the good thing about these handles is that they are so long that you can almost reach it at any height.
