Time to Get Nice: Free Music at iTunes and New Beasties Single

POST #    985

The new Beastie Boys single "Ch-Check It Out" is now available at the iTunes Music Store. At the store, they are celebrating their first anniversary by giving away free music for a week. It looks like they are giving away one song a day from the artists in the banner above.

Incidentally, while picking the rents up at the airport, I caught the "world premiere" of Ch-Check It Out on K-Rock. It's standard Beastie Boys, but I love it. Not sure if I love it because it's a good song, or because I miss them coming out with new stuff, but I'll be buying the song via iTunes tonight. You can check out (haha) a short sample of their song on their website or through iTunes. Their new album, To the 5 Boroughs, drops this summer. Awwww yeah!

I believe you can also hear the song during The O.C. tonight. It was funny, the DJ on K-Rock said that they premiered it and "welcome to the K-Rock...bitch."

did you make this post/IM me when you got your New Music Tuesday email or did you just notice it in the store? I havent been getting my emails until late in the day and it's kind of annoying. Like I just got the email right now.

But thanks for the heads up . I d/l both the free song and the new Beasties single today.

I was checking out the new iTunes yesterday morning while listening to Stern and there was an add for K-Rock mentioning that they were going to world premier the new Beastie Boys, and I remember noticing that it was available already on iTunes.

The new songs themselves go online around 1:30 am EST, and there is a link in iTunes that shows you which albums were just released. It's not a summary like the newsletter, but you don't have to wait to find out whats new either...

I too downloaded the Beasties, and Foo even though I had it, and Avil today, cause hell, it's free. Not quite sure about it as a single. It's new Beasties, and thats great, but it doesn't have the enjoyment that I've gotten from their more popular singles.

i don't generally like to check iTunes at work because it kills my pc, so i take a look when i get home at night.

i hear that the avril release blows, so i may skip that when i get home, but just like you, i got the foo song despite having it.
