Since Tuesday's check-up on the apartment, a lot of progress has been made. Or at least it looks like it. In the bathroom, the toilet and cabinet are in place, but not yet secured. The kitchen looks like it has made progress too. The top cabinets are in place, except for two that were the wrong size. The appliances are temporarily in place, awaiting a connection to power and/or water. Swan (my cabinet fabricators) came in and measured for the countertops as well. Some lights, in the kitchen (pictured), living room and bedroom (both not pictured) were also installed.

tell me more about your cabinetry - i'm redesigning a friend's kitchen, and these are pretty nice. i *could* look for my own specs, but there are a million manufacturers...

yes, i certainly can't wait until it's finished. been long enough.
janelle, as far as tips, i'm not sure what i can really offer. i mean, the company that made them is in queens, but i doubt you want to go out there just to get ideas. i pretty much had an idea of what i wanted design wise, went out there, took a look around, selected wood, type of handles (not installed yet), sink, fixtures, etc. i did some minimal looking online at some sites and a mandatory trip to home depot to pick up some catalogues.

i feel like i'm watching an episode for queer eye unfold. your kitchen looks hot! i am digging the cabinets as well. :)
