Window Treatments

Okay, this goes pretty much against everything in my last post, but I'm deciding on window treatments for my apartment (it should be noted that I usually call them blinds). I am going to order roller shades from Smith+Noble, after my cousin recommended them. Prices seem resonable, but you have to install them yourself.
The rooms that I need blinds for are the bedroom, living room, and cellar. I think I'm going with privacy in the bedroom (hubba, hubba!) and just room darkening for the living room and cellar. I'm pretty sure the two blues and green are out as options.

Just seeing you write "window treatments" makes me giggle.

I'm with you, I hate "window treatments", I just got rid of the gross white blinds that came with my house. The sunlight coming from my windows gets really strong in the summer, so I have to have something covering them, I got wooden blinds, they are great, keep the rooms dark and cool when they are closed and they look nice.

looks great. how do the solar roller shades look? seem to look very modern. where are their showrooms located?

yeah, i'd be interested in seeing these solar roller shades. i don't like traditional blinds. they remind me of being in an office. not that my "office" even has windows.

i think i'm leaning to 5, 9, or 10 right now.
cj, wooden blinds would be cool, but i don't think they would work for my apartment. it wouldn't match the few pieces of furniture that i have. there is something to be said for the noise that wooden blinds make though. and my windows are pretty large, so the cost might be an issue too.
lurker, i like the look of roller shades in general. well, at least more than venetian blinds. hopefully they will turn out well when i get them. i'm sure i'll do a post about that when they are up.
el, you can inspect for yourself whenever i finish my apartment. yeah, don't ask, i have no idea when.
