Sweet, Sweet Fantasy Baby

POST #    901

Ah, another year of wasted summer nights, watching Baseball Tonight and playing fantasy baseball. It's exciting just typing about it, even though I'm not as into it as I was in the past. It's something to pass the time and make things more interesting in the baseball season.

My team has some good pitching, but the offense is suspect. The New York Chairmen in order of draft: K. Wood, R. Halladay, R. Johnson, K. Foulke, J. Posada, L. González, J. Vidro, P. Nevin, J. Borowski, E. Alfonzo, K. Lofton, R. Winn, J. Peavy, J. Dye, D. Kolb, R. Harden, R. Aurilia, R. Mondesí, R. Clayton, R. Franklin, E. Munson.

Not a great team by any means, but I hope to ride them to a 6th place finish. That's what I get for doing last minute research.

you draft a closer before your 1st hitter? and take four pitchers before a hitter?

and phil nevin!!! (over/under of 20 games before season-ending injury; i'll take under).

i predict a last place finish.

okay, maybe i'll finish 13th. i don't think i'll finish last.

I'd try to trade Johnson and or Peavy to someone that thinks those guys will have a great season to try to get some offensive help. Maybe even package Nevin with them. Johnson will be hurt at some point this year, everyone could see that he was breaking down last year. Kolb, I'm not sure how he's doing this spring but last I hear he hadn't pitched yet this year. Borowski will likely be on a thin rope in Chicago with Hawkins in the mix now. Gonzalez is good, but overrated. Lofton will likely not pan out with the Yankees as Steinbrenner isn't that patient.

yes, yes, joe. my team sucks. i think peavy will have a good season and as far as borowsi and kolb, i should be able to get at least some saves out of them. the lofton pick kind of sucks now, since he's now batting 9th. who knows if he'll play at all when bernie comes back.
