Satan's Laundromat Walk 2 - Navy Yard

POST #    895

Some more photos from Saturday's walk. The photos in this set are mainly from the area around the Brooklyn Navy Yard, which now doesn't any Navy activity at all.

Information garnered from the Navy Yard's site says naval activity ceased in 1966 after more than 150 years. The Navy Yard covers around 300 acres on the Brooklyn waterfront and currently employs over 3000 people. Despite all this activity, the surrounding area has yet to recover from the Navy moving away almost 40 years ago.
