Who Needs the Kwik-E-Mart? I DO!!!!

POST #    755

Hello BP!! Located on Vandervoort between Grand and Metropolitan.

Mmm...so many chips.

Halley pointing out one of the fine Tostitos dips.

Lactose intolerance my ass!

Never have I been so happy to see a gas station open. I don't have a car, yet the opening of a BP Amoco across the street from work is a godsend. It is an oasis in the urban jungle that is the "East Williamsburg Industrial Park." This area is devoid of all stores and decent eateries. That means no snacks, no drinks, no nothing. That all changed this afternoon. They have everything I could possibly want, bread, milk, chips, candy, ice cream, beer, smokes (wait, I don't smoke), and windshield wiper fluid (wait, I don't have a car).

I am a happy, happy man. Yes, it takes very little to make me happy, I am easy to please, and pleased I am. Today is a new day, a day when I start snacking my ass off and my ass grows to heights never before seen, today is a good day, maybe the best day I've had here in three years. Sad, I know.

your office doesn't have vending machines?

Posted by: dan at February 10, 2004 9:30 AM

uh, we're lucky if our heat is working and our roof isn't leaking...

the bp also has fancy soda machines where you can add flavors to your soda. like lime, lemon, vanilla, etc.

Next time you go to your quickie mart, be sure to pick up the following:

Bottle of bourbon
large box of condoms
home pregnancy test
disposable enemas
nudie magazine(s)
pack of cigarettes
tampons
and any thing else that many would be embarrased to buy

Finally, wisper to the clerk that you wish to purchase some fireworks as well

When you get back to the office, your co-workers will see your purchases and say "Tien, I don't know what you have planned for tonight, but count me out!!"

LOL. Thank you, come again!

If you ever get a chance to own a car, run away. You're doing something very, very wrong.

oooh. my suburban tendancies are evoked. i love quickie-marts. makes me miss 7-11, where i spend most of my adolescence trying to buy alcohol and cigarettes and stealing stuff.

the only thing they are missing is the slurpee machine. i guess nothing is perfect, but this is damn close.

I'd kill (figuratively) for something like that in my dead-ass 'hood. The little Yemeni bodegas just don't cut it.

You lucky, lucky man.

leaking roof, no heat, what is it exactly that your company does?

and we have 7-11s all over our city, and wawas too, which are even better.

yeah dan, it's not really our fault. it's more like the landlord.

so yesterday, i went to bp to get lunch at the "wild bean cafe". i got a wild bean cafe chicken sandwich or something like that. it was pretty good. i also got a medium chicken noodle soup which was surprisingly un-salty. cost? $5.99.
