I Am a Travellin Man...Well, Kind of Anyway

POST #    731

42 states, 82% of the United States.

13 countries, 5% of the world.

I was checking out Eleanor's site and she had an entry on the places she has traveled in her life. It seemed like a fun thing to try out, so I gave it a whirl.

Using World 66, you can create your own visited states map and visited countries map. Clearly, I need to do more world travel.

Where has everyone else been?

tien, if i'm reading your map correctly, you have missed out on the most important state in the US. I'm sure you've already recognized this grave mistake and are working hard to correct it.

Tien,
Come on down to Missoura, we'll show you a good time.

wait, christina, what are you talking about? i currently live in new york.

but if you mean oregon, no, i have not been there. i have been to the surrounding states though. what more do i need?

john, how is everyone in missoura taking the gephart thing? is your dad going to venture into politics now? he can totally have the support of tienmao.com. i would even be willing to do his blog!

interesting. What are the requirements for putting a state on the list? Does driving thru it for a few hours count, or do you have to spend at least one night there?

hmm, i guess that is up to the individual person, but with the states, i considered places that i places my feet in while passing through. but i didn't include places where i was only in the airport in the u.s. or world map. if i did, i would have been in korea and japan too.

Just for the sake of correctness:

42 states =/= 82%, so I knew something was fishy immediately.

I think you mean 41 states, as I count 9 that are non-red...

Sincerely,

Joe the Stickler

actually joe, if you click through to the site, they list DC as an option. i just copied what they said my # of states/%age was.

and 41 states is still equal to 82% 42 our of 51 is 82.35%. so either way, i've been to 82%.

Yes, I just saw that when I got the site to load. What I want to know now is: "Who in the hell considers DC a state?" or "Are there 51 stars on the flag?"

This stuff kills me...
