Someone Hold My Hair Back as I Go Vomit
Watching Mr. Bush's State of the Union Address makes me want to puke. He seems to insist on using fear as a reason to keep him in office. Lest we forget Mr. Bush, there are other candidates with greater military service than you. Some of the best moments of any State of the Union is when one party cheers and the other does nothing at all. Great comedic moments. I think I would end up booing Bush too many times that the Sergeant At Arms would have to escort me out.
I was going to do a running diary of the State of the Union, but I realized it would make no sense after the fact and it would be pretty much me going, "what the fuck are you talking about!?!" or making snide remarks that would only inflame people (but I do that all the time, don't I).
I think I need to move to Canada.

I'm in Saint John, NB, Canada, on business. It's such a small city, that their news channels are primarily U.S. This morning, a woman on the one Canadian news station I could find (she was very "Andy Rooney"), bashed Canadian TV as a whole for airing the SOTUA. People in the U.S. think Bush is a moron, and they really seem to think so here, too.

My pre-wife had to tell me to "stop yelling at the TV!" several times last night.
My most incensed moment came when Bush decided that with all of the troubles this country faces and all of the problems we have, the one amendment that needs to be made to the Constitution should outlaw gay marriage. Are you serious?
So war is OK. Poverty is a moderate concern. Crime is an afterthought. But if two people who love each other decide to get married and have a union that affects nobody's life but their own, that's a friggin holocaust? Its good to fight, but wrong to love? I couldn't possibly be more anti-Bush.
