Fun at The Transit Museum

POST #    707

Rachelle proves that there is a working phone in the museum. They also have one broken phone, true to form.

Ooh, look what I found, a modern turnstile!

Rachelle locked into an old turnstile.

I don't usually associate museums with fun, but my trip with Rachelle to the New York Transit Museum was a lot of fun. There are bunches-o interactive displays that you can look at and even have some fun with.

i LOVE the transit museum. i went to the grand reopening a few months ago and had a lot of fun. unfortunately, it's not one of those museums that has frequently changing exhibits. that's the only disappointing part.

yeah, i remember seeing that on your site. actually, here is corie's post on that. yeah, i'm not sure hopw practical it would be to keep changing those subway cars. and you're not going to throw out the old ones either.

I can't wait to get to that transit museum, I keep hearing such good things about it...

Man, this whole "blogging with photos" thing kicks ass. I think I'm going to give it a try tomorrow. Its way better than having to describe everything.

I just want them to add one sign to their collection:

"Spring is chain snatching season!"

Whatever happened to that subway sign? It was my all time favorite.

apparently, i've been to the transit museum before. when i was a kid. sometime before i was 10. so says my mom.

Soon it will be spring...

Spring is chain snatching season,
Tuck in your chains

I have that sign.. I rode to the end of the line till the car was empty and took it. It was just too cool.
