Camera Adds 40 Pounds and a 3" Radius to Head

POST #    643

My head is big, but not that big. My face is round, but not that round. My hair is long, yes, that long.

My picture on Fox5!

Earlier tonight, I was interviewed by Lisa Evers. Sure enough, it aired tonight on the news. It even aired in the first 20 minutes. Not just a slow news day, but a really slow news day.

Oh, come on. This is awesome, slow news day or not. I plan to be walking in the background of one of Joe Avellar's reports on some slower than slow news day.

Ha ha! A great day for bloggers everywhere. I'm impressed by all of the people who thought the taping of the hand was childish. Or maybe I'm just childish, cuz I thought that it was great.

Posted by: corie at December 17, 2003 7:11 AM

yeah, who cares if it's childish! it's funny and amusing.

who's that asian woman on tv? does she have an accent?

Posted by: dan at December 17, 2003 8:51 AM

thanks dan. johnny actually said a similar thing. he wondered how close i was to becoming a woman - with the home design and whatnot. i have some great friends.

Posted by: tien at December 17, 2003 9:04 AM

i guess the fire and the impending storm could only take up about 10 minutes. too bad i missed it!

Posted by: dahl at December 17, 2003 9:16 AM

Cool! Of course taping up the sign is immature. Did the reporter expect someone to say "This represents a mature statement of dissent by an activist rebelling against the modernization of street signs."?

Posted by: joe s at December 17, 2003 9:27 AM

hee hee. that actually would have been really funny, especially when aired on fox5 news.

Posted by: corie at December 17, 2003 9:44 AM

Damn Tien, you like like Ken Griffey Jr. from that simpsons episode where he drinks the nerve tonic and his head grows to twice it's regular size....Dr. Hibbert called it "gigantism" I believe!

Posted by: Justin at December 17, 2003 10:15 AM

a friend of mine said i look like like a weeble wobble, and i can't say that i disagree.

here's another one on the corner of irving and 16th

seriously, how short was the camera guy?

Posted by: dan at December 17, 2003 11:13 AM

he was actually pretty tall, but he was looking for the best angle and that's the one he came up with. i believe he was squatting during the interview.

Posted by: tien at December 17, 2003 11:19 AM

First, I endorse the taping of the sign wholeheartedly, and can't understand how anyone could fail to see that it is an act of genius that needed to be carried out immediately upon its conception.

Second, it was also an inspired act to blog it.

Third, you look fine to me Tien, camera distortions notwithstanding, and I think your "friends" should bear in mind that we're not watching THEM on the news! :-)

Great work!

Posted by: Oscar at December 17, 2003 11:50 AM

his "friends" think that if he got a haircut his head wouldnt look so big!

Posted by: rachelleb at December 17, 2003 12:05 PM

i too think the taping of the sign was genius. in the interview, i also said that if i thought of it, i might have done it. the follow-up question was of course, did you do it?

rachelle, my head is just that big. i've come to accept it. see halo's post.

Posted by: tien at December 17, 2003 12:27 PM

i'm sorry, the fact that this was actually on the news, well, i don't know what to say. in nyc, no less. unbelievable.

oscar, as his friend, i feel it is my obligation to tell him when he looks like a pudgy asian woman. I just don't expect it to happen so often.

Posted by: dan at December 17, 2003 12:59 PM

was that mr. potato head on tv? with the long 60's do? lookin all groovy and mod? but actually with the lousy picture that calla put on of me this week, i would say that i did have to smile. what about all you others, putting up miserable pictures of you. i know you must have them.. come on bloggers, lets make tien feel better about his big head....

Posted by: skutchie at December 17, 2003 1:55 PM

i dont post bad photos of my self.. tien does that for me.. his site is overflowing with photos of me doing embarassing things.

Posted by: rachelleb at December 17, 2003 3:17 PM

yeah dan, i'm not sure how many more times i will be on tv.

thanks for the sympathy skutchie. and yes, i have plenty of bad photos of myself. i just don't choose to share many of them. i do have plenty of bad photos of rachelle and photos of johnny though.

Posted by: tien at December 17, 2003 3:30 PM

That's funny Rachelle!

Dan - Yeah, I actually DO know the "friend" job description, and I provide the same loving service to any number of my friends ...

Posted by: Oscar at December 18, 2003 10:53 AM

yo my friend did the taping of that finger(which was my idea though) ...how the hell does this get on the news...we didn't think many people would notice.

Posted by: 113 at December 29, 2003 2:39 AM

apparently, someone saw my picture of your finger and put it up on their site and the whole thing snowballed from there.

Posted by: tien at December 29, 2003 7:30 AM
