"It's Not a TOO-muh!"

POST #    630

I've been dropping things a lot recently (glomits, cell phone, and camera come to mind), and now that the cold weather has come along it's only getting worse. I have this bad habit of using something while in the car, putting it on my lap and then getting out of the car after forgetting that the item was on my lap. If I'm like this now imagine what I'll be like when I hit 30!

Last night, I was sitting in the car and after wearing my hat all day, I took it off and put it in my lap. After getting out of the car and walking a few steps, I dropped it right near the curb. Ordinarily, this isn't too bad, but it was wet out from the light rain and the snow melting. First reaction was to shake the water off the hat. I did that, but I seemed to have sprayed myself with road water. Blech. Almost immediately, I started to get a headache, which continued for most of the night and through this morning. I'm assuming that it's not from the water since my head started to hurt right away. Hopefully it's just psychosomatic and not the flu. Whatever it is, I'm trying to fight it off with lots of water. After getting to work this morning, I chugged a full Nalgene bottle worth of water.

Nalgene....I miss my Nalgene bottle! The janitors accidentally threw mine out from my desk (i.e. stole my nasty Nalgene that was covered in stickers and had been to Africa and back)

Vitamin C, lots of it. Don't go the corie route of just assuming it will go away...I can see my glands through my neck this morning.

Lotta nasty shit going around. That's what happens when you spend too much time around ... people.

BTW, for when you're over 30, never get in the habit of setting stuff on top of your car while you wrestle your keys out of your pocket.

dahl - apparently they have "limited edition" bottles in their store. sam, you reading this? LIMITED EDITION HOLIDAY EDITIONS!! from the website - "for the thirsty person in your life."

corie - i usually take a multivitamin before bed, but i've been slacking on that. i guess the vodka that you mentioned didn't help? maybe i'll do the nyquil liquicaps tonight. i love those.

oscar - thankfully, i haven't done the car and roof thing. if i wore my glasses more, i might do the, "look for the glasses all over the apartment, but really have them on your head the whole time" thing.

rachelle - is it a mere coincidence that we (me, you, corie)? i think she put something in those cookies!!

i brought my nalgene to chinatown and left it in a restaurant. by the time i remembered i forgot it, it had been thrown in the trash and bundled into one of 6 or 7 huge black trash bags on the sidewalk. :( really sad. i am gonna get another one soon at EMS.

whenever i drop something on the ground in public, i shake it out, even when the floor looks relatively clean and dry.

rachelle! i'm sorry to hear you feel sick :( feel better!
