I Am a "Halloween Scrooge"

POST #    538

Someone once called me a "Halloween Scrooge." I won't mention any names, but I guess she's saying this because I'm not joining her and some other friends in the Village parade tonight. Tonight is the only night that I would march in a parade in the Village, but I don't really get in the Halloween spirit anymore. The reason is that people don't tend to give candy to 25 year-olds dressed up in costumes, and as a kid, candy was the big incentive. I love candy. I've also marched in the Halloween parade before. So I guess I am somewhat of a Halloween Scrooge. Bah, humbug!

Here is my tribute:

Google rocks. The search results for Halloween.

Just wanted to say you have excellent site here, very impressive in the overall appearance and content. I was wondering how long it took to learn and use movable type as an application. It's tempting to start my own blog, but somewhat intimidating... (as my knowledge of doing this sort of thing = null set)

hey joe, thanks for the compliment. i would say there are better looking sites out there (many actually. rachelle's, eleanor's, and halley's come to mind - that's pretty much all my friends that use movabletype), but i guess i kept the look kind of simple. as far as content, thanks again.

movabletype is pretty easy to learn. it kind of does all the work for you. you do the install, tweak a little here, a little there, and you're set. i would say that the install is the hardest part and the tweaking can take a little time, but give it a few days and you should have it to where you want it. and if you have problems, the people in the support forums are very helpful.
