I am Now a Rich Man...Hello Ladies!

POST #    507

$2,423.00 + $82,601.19 = $85,024.19

This morning was the closing on my apartment, I (I guess some of it is my mom's) am now a lot richer (at least cash-wise). I was moving stuff last night until 1 am and went to the apartment early to clean before the walkthrough. I am so tired. At least closing went smoothly and quickly. It only took an hour and a half.

To celebrate, my first post-closing splurge was a roast beef sandwich from Garden of Eden and a mini key lime pie made by Steve's.

Fare thee well, 210 E. 36th St.

Congratulations! I'm also in the process of selling my house and I can't wait to reap the financial benefits.

nice, now you can buy me that ipod

Wow, it looked everything survived Tien keeping his average room temperature at 92 degrees.

Wow, you're on the other side of what I'm about to be doing....hmm.

Did you buy a new apartment or are you going to rent?

Posted by: corie at October 27, 2003 2:46 PM

i'm planning on buying a new place, when my financial benefits will quickly vanish. after that, i will then re-join those that are pursuing the american dream. homeownership and lifelong debt. ahh...dreams.

corie, the process, once we finally settled on a date was pretty easy. closing was a breeze. there was only one bank at closing though, so it made things easier. i've read about the issues you've been having with your place. just keep telling yourself that it will all be over soon.

i'm focusing on the bottle of grey goose awaiting me at about 5pm tomorrow, post-closing.

Posted by: corie at October 27, 2003 3:15 PM

grey goose, not a bad idea. you should hit up the vodka pre-closing. what do you have to lose? all you have to be able to do is supply them with a photo id and sign your name about a thousand times.

good luck.

enjoy it while it lasts. my sell/buy was the other way around, so i never even had paper wealth. for a couple months there, i owed almost 10 times my salary on all my mortgages, so that was fun.

you putting that stuff in ing? make some interest while you have it.

i just realized i never got to see your 32nd st apt. did anybody ever come over? any wild parties?

are you allowed to have ppl over at your aunt's place? can yvan and i come over and watch cable? ;)

Posted by: jeannette at October 28, 2003 12:14 PM

actually, it was on 36th st. some people came over. no, no wild parties.

i believe i can have people over, but it's such a mess right now with all my crap. but, starting saturday, i'll have two apartments and a country house all to myself...for 2 weeks. so yes, you can come over.

to make it up to you, since you never got to help decorate my old place, you can help me design my new place. ok?

Posted by: tien at October 28, 2003 12:27 PM

where is this "country house" ?

Posted by: rachelleb at October 28, 2003 2:17 PM

this country house is in pennsylvania. a mere 2 hours away, or 90-100 minutes as my mom seems to say.

Posted by: tien at October 28, 2003 2:43 PM

let's go down to tien's country house!! field trip!

yeah - i am up for helping you design your new place. not that i am a great designer, but i have been reading up on this. this will definitely involve trips to ikea and surfing craigslist for a while. ppl sell/give away some pretty nice stuff on there!

Posted by: jeannette at October 28, 2003 9:22 PM

sure, there is just that one weekend that i won't be here.

Posted by: tien at October 28, 2003 10:42 PM

no wild parties? what about the night I intercepted that ball in NCAA Football with 2 minutes left and then fumbled on the same play and then woke up all your neighbors? that was pretty wild.
