how do you sleep?

POST #    379

in a recent study, a sleep expert in britain, with a last name that leaves something to be desired (idzikowski), identified six positions that people sleep in. each of these positions also reveals aspects of their personality. the most popular position is the "fetus" position, with 41% of the population and 51% of women sleeping in it. the other positions include yearner, starfish, log, soldier, and freefaller.

i tend to fall asleep in the frefaller position, which means i appear brash but cannot cope with criticism. but after falling asleep, i'm usually found in either the soldier position (quiet and reserved who loathes noisy social situations) or starfish position (a good listener who likes to help when ever needed).

how does everyone else sleep?

if you can't read this, you probably need more sleep. see enlarged version.

i'm either the soldier or a modified freefaller. this freefaller looks like she's flat on her face. how do you sleep like that? i put my right arm under my pillow, with my head turned to the left side. i think maybe that means i don't appear brash buy i cannot cope with personal criticism?

yeah, i guess its hard to say that you look exactly like that if you are a freefaller. but i think i do the same thing you do. i sometimes switch up the directions i face if i cant sleep.

I sleep in lots of positions - does that mean i have an unstable personality? i'm usually a yearner, next comes the starfish, the soldier, the freefaller, and occasional a fetus. It looks like I'm everything except for gullible.

My sleeping postion isn't on there? What's that mean? Hmmmmmm....no label... I sleep with one arm under my pillow, halfway on my side, sorta on my stomach with a full body pillow under one leg and my other arm is hugging it. Does that mean I'm insecure? No way. hahaha

The yearner... looks like he's gonna have back problems.
The Starfish...all he needs is a chalk outline and a police do not cross line.
The Log...take the pillow away...is he standing?
The Soilder..ummmmmm ok?
The Freefaller...Sounds to much like freeballer
The Fetus...that one is OK.

hmm, alison and greg both have undefined positions. i'm guessing the researchers generalized.

alison, that is some excellent analysis of the different positions.
