blackout '03 + 1

on the day after the blackout of 2003, new york city has started to come back into the the 20th century. thankfully, the city is at full power and the subways are running. i am now at full power as well. damn hangovers.

the ny times has a whole mess-o-stuff on the blackouts including this op-ed by frank mccourt.

Wow, it must have sucked with no power. Last week we had to have our power shut off for like 6 hours while they did some repairs down the street. I felt like there was nothing to do. haha It makes you realize how much we do that involves electricity. What if we lived back in the day? Damnnnnnnnnnnnn...we'd actually have to go outside and play. lol

yeah, not cool at all. i had to walk up 10 flights of stairs after getting to my apartment. needless to say, i didn't go back outside until the power was back.
